Nina Jacobson

Nina Jacobson is the cofounder of Color Force, an independent production company she started after being abruptly fired from her job as president of the Walt Disney Motion Picture Group during a corporate restructuring. Through Color Force, Jacobson and her partner Brad Simpson have produced a bevy of hits including "Crazy Rich Asians," and "The Hunger Games" and "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" franchises.

Jacobson and Simpson won Emmy and Golden Globe Awards for their first foray into television, "American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson." The show debuted on FX to critical acclaim and record ratings, and went on to receive 22 Emmy Award nominations and nine wins, including the Emmy for Best Limited Series. The series’ second installment, "The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story," received 18 Emmy nominations and seven wins, including the Emmy for Best Limited Series. Color Force also produced "Impeachment: American Crime Story," "Y: The Last Man" and the critically acclaimed drama series "Pose" with Ryan Murphy.

Prior to Color Force, Jacobson was President of the Walt Disney Motion Picture Group where she oversaw script development and film production for Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures and Hollywood Pictures. During her tenure, fifteen of Jacobson’s projects grossed over $100 million domestically, including "Pirates of the Caribbean," "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" and "The Princess Diaries."

Earlier in her career, Jacobson was a senior film executive at DreamWorks SKG, where she developed "What Lies Beneath" and originated the idea of DreamWorks’ first animated feature, "Antz." She also held positions at Universal, Parkes/MacDonald Productions, Silver Pictures and began her career at Disney Sunday Movie.

Jacobson has been named to Forbes magazine's "50 Over 50" list in 2023 and was a Variety500 Honoree from 2017-2020. She is a graduate of Brown University.
