Noam Brown
Noam Brown Biography
Noam Brown is a research scientist at OpenAI, specializing in multi-step reasoning, self-play, and multi-agent AI.
Previously with Meta’s FAIR, Brown co-developed CICERO, the first AI to achieve human-level performance in the strategy game Diplomacy. His achievements also include the creation of Libratus and Pluribus, which defeated top human poker professionals in Human vs. Machine competitions.
Brown has earned accolades including the Marvin Minsky Medal for Outstanding Achievements in AI and recognition as one of MIT Tech Review's 35 Innovators Under 35. His work on Pluribus was named a runner-up for Science magazine’s Breakthrough of the Year in 2019.
Brown earned his PhD in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University. Before earning his doctorate, Brown worked at the Federal Reserve Board in the International Financial Markets section, where he researched algorithmic trading in financial markets.
