Omar Tyree

Omar Tyree, a New York Times best-selling author, received the 2001 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literature in Fiction and the 2006 Phillis Wheatley Literary Award for Body of Work in Urban Fiction. Recognized by the City Council of Philadelphia in 2009 for his work in urban literacy, Tyree has published 16 books, selling nearly two million copies worldwide.

Tyree, a leader in the African-American literary community, is an adept speaker on various community-related and intellectual topics. Currently expanding into feature films, business lectures, and urban children's books, he continues to innovate and inspire across multiple platforms. His involvement in the publishing industry was marked early on with a two-book deal with Simon & Schuster in 1995, followed by a significant fiction contract. Currently, he is developing his first non-fiction title "The Equation: Applying the 4 Indisputable Components of Business Success" with John Wiley.

As a popular speaker on university and corporate circuits, Tyree is known for his "Equation for Life" lecture, offering strategies for achieving success. He began his entrepreneurial journey in his early 20s by founding Mar Productions to publish his initial works. His business ventures have since expanded to include Hot Lava Entertainment, a production company for books, music, and film, exemplified by his recent DVD release, "The Lure of Young Women."
