Patrick Baldwin Jr.

Patrick Baldwin Jr. was selected as an early entry from Wisconsin-Milwaukee by the Golden State Warriors in the first round (28th overall) of the 2022 NBA Draft. He became the fifth Panthers player selected and the first since 1991 when Von McDade was selected by the New Jersey Nets in the second round (53rd overall).

Baldwin Jr. appeared in 11 games (10 starts), averaging 12.1 points (.344 FG%, .266 3P%, .743 FT%), 5.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists in 28.5 minutes per game in only season with Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He scored in double figures in six times, including two 20-point games, and posted 21 points and 11 rebounds in collegiate debut at North Dakota (11/9/21), the first double-double by a UWM freshman since 2008 and the most points for a freshman in a season opener since 1999. Baldwin Jr. scored a career-high 26 points (9-14 FG, 6-6 3P, 2-2 FT) on 12/4/21 vs. Robert Morris. His 6-of-6 from 3-point range tied Joe Schultz (6-6 3P in 1991) for the most 3-pointers made without a miss in school history and was the second-most 3-pointers made by a freshman in a single game, trailing only Pat McCabe's seven in January 1995.

Baldwin Jr.’s nickname is "PBJ." He is the son of Patrick Sr. and Shawn Baldwin. His father played college basketball and mother played volleyball, both at Northwestern. He played for father at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, which he chose over Duke, Georgetown, Kentucky, Michigan, Northwestern, North Carolina, UCLA, Virginia and Wisconsin.
