Patti LaBelle

Patti LaBelle is an African American R&B singer and actress. Often referred to as the "Godmother of Soul," she is best known for hits like "If Only You Knew," "New Attitude" and "Lady Marmalade." In a career spanning seven decades, she has sold more than 50 million records globally and has received two Grammys and seven NAACP Image Awards. She is the recipient of numerous lifetime achievement awards and has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Apollo Theater's Hall of Fame, and the Grammy Hall of Fame as well.

Additionally, LaBelle is the author of six books, including four cookbooks, and an entrepreneur. Patti’s Good Life brand offers a variety of frozen comfort foods, breakfast items and desserts, including her world-famous sweet potato pie.

In 2023, LaBelle was named to Forbes' "50 Over 50" list in the Lifestyle category.

Throughout her long career, LaBelle has performed on television and in film, including the Oscar-nominated "A Soldier’s Story," "A Different World," "American Horror Story," "Empire," and "The Kominsky Method," and in her own TV series, "Out All Night." She has been a contestant on the hit shows "Dancing with the Stars" and "The Masked Singer," and starred in Broadway productions of "Your Arms are Too Short to Box with God," "Fela," and "After Midnight."

Offstage, LaBelle is an advocate for adoption, diabetes, cancer, HIV/AIDS and many other causes and non-profit initiatives.
