Piers Linney

Piers Linney is an entrepreneur and investor with a broad range of experience in technology, media, and communications, and a notable advocate for entrepreneurship and small to medium-sized businesses.

Linney's business ventures began at a young age when he established his own paper round at 13, by sourcing directly from the wholesaler. His early entrepreneurial spirit paved the way for a career that includes being a former Dragon on BBC1's "Dragons’ Den" and appearing on Channel 4’s "The Secret Millionaire." He is also the co-founder of Atherton Bikes, a leader in additive manufactured mountain bikes, and the founder of Moblox, a platform providing technology and tools for small businesses.

Educated in accounting and law at the University of Manchester, Linney started his professional life in the City, first as a solicitor specializing in venture capital before moving into M&A investment banking at Credit Suisse. Additionally, he has experience in alternative asset fund management. Linney's achievements include recognition as one of the UK’s top 100 most influential Black Britons and being named one of the UK's top 20 Ethnic Minority Executives in 2018 and 2020. He has served as a Non-executive Director at the British Business Bank, and as a Trustee of Nesta, the UK’s innovation foundation.

Linney serves as an adviser to Sky, contributing to its Diversity Advisory Council, underscoring his commitment to diversity and inclusion. His regular media commentary on radio and TV further establishes him as a leading voice in discussions on business and technology. Linney leverages his extensive background in business management, communication, and investment to provide valuable insights as a keynote speaker on these topics.
