Po-Jui Chiu, also known as Ray, co-founded BioInspira, Inc. and serves as its Chief Executive Officer.
Inspired by a deadly natural gas explosion in his homeland of Taiwan, Po Jui Chiu was determined to build an accurate, cheap, power-efficient, bio-based sensor platform for detecting chemicals in the air -- one that could replace the slow, hand-held sensors commonly used today. Developed at UC Berkeley, BioInspira has raised $3.7 million in funding.
He holds an MEng (Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering) from University of California, Berkeley, and a BS (Chemical Engineering) from National Taiwan University.
