Pocket Sun

Pocket Sun is the co-founder and managing partner of SoGal Ventures, the first women-led, next-generation venture capital firm. She is a visionary leader with global influence and extensive experience working with startups and corporations across the US and Asia. Sun has lived all across the globe, growing up in China, moving to the U.S. for school, traveling around Singapore for many years, and now residing in Canada. She started SoGal’s Foundation during her time in grad school at USC as a means to invest in women and underrepresented communities. Since its inception, SoGal has built a global community and is making transformational changes in the VC industry. Sun has helped thousands of women and POC in SoGal’s training programs and educational webinars teaching people about venture capital from a career and life perspective. One of SoGal’s training programs is Fempire Initiative — an online training course that teaches women how to get involved in the angel investing world.

Sun has been featured in the 2016 Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 list, BBC, CNBC, Fortune, Bloomberg, Inc., and more. She was also named among the youngest LinkedIn 2015 Top Voices in VC and Entrepreneurship. She is regularly invited to speak at the most prestigious conferences around the world including Microsoft CEO Summit, Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit, and TEDx.

Sun is very passionate about feminism, diverse communities, sustainability, and becoming a strong force in the future of work. She is a consultant for the well-known Feminist Instagram account, an intersectional feminist community made up of a diverse network of change-makers from around the globe, which has 6.5M followers.
