Psy

Park Jae-sang, known professionally as Psy, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and record producer, best known for his energetic performances and viral hit "Gangnam Style." Psy's debut album "Psy from the Psycho World!" was released in 2001. His subsequent albums, such as "Sa 2" and "3 Mai," gained traction among the youth. The title track, "Champion," from his third album, became popular during the 2002 World Cup held in Seoul. After a brief stint in the military, Psy joined YG Entertainment in 2010 and released his fifth album "PsyFive."

In 2012, Psy's single "Gangnam Style" took the world by storm, becoming the first YouTube video to reach 1 billion views and propelling him into international stardom. He became an honorary ambassador for the Gangnam district and was appointed as a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF. After leaving YG Entertainment in 2018, Psy founded his own label, P Nation, signing artists such as Jessi, Hyuna, and Dawn. His ninth studio album "Psy 9th" was released in 2022, featuring the lead track "That That."

Throughout his career, Psy has received numerous accolades for his music and performances, including the MTV Europe Music Awards "Best Video" for "Gangnam Style." He has also set multiple Guinness World Records, including "Most viewed video online" and "First video to be viewed more than 1 billion times on YouTube." The South Korean government recognized his contributions to the music industry, awarding him the Okgwan Order of Cultural Merit. Off stage, Psy is also known for his philanthropic work, notably donating ₩100 million to aid those affected by the 2022 South Korean floods through the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association.
