Ramy Youssef

Ramy Youssef is an award-winning Egyptian American creator, actor, producer, director, and comedian. He is widely recognized for creating, producing, directing, and starring in the Hulu show "Ramy," for which he won both a Golden Globe and a Peabody Award.

Youssef started his career in the entertainment industry with a main role on the sitcom "See Dad Run" and later had a recurring role in "Mr. Robot" in 2017. His experience in "See Dad Run" allowed him to gain valuable insight into the writing process, which he later applied to his own projects. "Ramy" debuted on Hulu in 2019 and follows the life of a millennial Muslim who is a second-generation American. For his role, Youssef received critical acclaim, including two Emmy nominations in 2020 for "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series" and "Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series."

In addition to his television work, Youssef's first HBO stand-up comedy special, "Ramy Youssef: Feelings," earned him nominations for a Critics’ Choice Award and a Writers Guild Award. He also co-created and serves as an executive producer for "Mo," a semi-autobiographical series on Netflix that gained recognition for its unique storytelling, winning a Gotham Award and making AFI's Top Television Programs of the Year list.

In 2023, Youssef appeared in the film "Poor Things," alongside Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, and Mark Ruffalo, under the direction of Yorgos Lanthimos. His work consistently emphasizes empathy and human connection, inspiring audiences to develop a deeper, more compassionate understanding of diverse cultures and experiences.
