Randy LaJoie

Randy LaJoie began racing at the age of 12 in local go-kart competitions. With success on the go-kart circuit, LaJoie graduated to cars in 1980 and began a career that hasn't slowed down since. He started racing cars at the Danbury Fair Racearena. In his second season, he won the series championship of the Modified Sportsman Division after driving to an incredible 13 victories.

Lajoie then moved up to the Busch North Series, taking rookie of the year honors in 1983. Two seasons later, he claimed the series championship with 14 victories. He spent the next several years racing a partial schedule in the Busch Series. In 1994, he made the jump to a full-time Busch regular.

LaJoie teamed up with BACE Motorsports in 1996 and garnered five wins en route to edging David Green by 29 points for the Busch Series title. Lajoie repeated as champion in 1997, one of only 3 drivers to attain this feat. He also laid claim to being the first Busch Series driver to win $1 million in a single season.In 2001, LaJoie joined up with the newly formed Evans Motorsports team to pilot the No. 7 Chevrolet. LaJoie started the team off on the right foot and won the season opening NAPA Auto Parts 300 in Daytona. Later that season he was the victor at the Sam's Town 250 in Memphis.

For Lajoie, 2003 was a year of transistion. He was released from Evans Motorsports midway through the season after a rough start. He then finished 30th at Memphis for Innovative Motorsports and 14th at Phoenix for FitzBradshaw Racing.
