Rashad McCants

Rashad McCants is a former professional basketball player and current entrepreneur known for his dynamic career on and off the court. McCants rose to national prominence during his time at the University of North Carolina. As a key player for the Tar Heels, McCants helped lead the team to a national championship in 2005, where he showcased his scoring ability and versatility as a shooting guard. He was named to the All-ACC First Team for the 2003–04 season and earned a spot on the All-ACC Third Team in the 2004–05 season. He was also included in the All-ACC Rookie Team in the 2002–03 season. That same year, he declared for the NBA Draft and was selected 14th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

McCants played four seasons in the NBA, primarily with the Timberwolves and briefly with the Sacramento Kings. During his tenure, he was known for his scoring prowess, averaging a career-high 14.9 points per game during the 2007-2008 season. Following his time in the NBA, McCants played professionally overseas and in domestic leagues, including a stint in the BIG3, a 3-on-3 basketball league. McCants was selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 BIG3 Draft by Trilogy. He was a part of the inaugural BIG3 championship team with Trilogy winning the first-ever Big3 League Championship on August 26, 2017, with McCants scoring 22 points on 55% shooting and being named Championship MVP. His professional career also includes playing in various overseas leagues, including in Brazil, China, the Dominican Republic, Lebanon, the Philippines, and Venezuela. He has also appeared in the Philippine Basketball Association.

Off the court, McCants has been an outspoken advocate for athlete empowerment and reform in collegiate athletics. McCants continues to use his platform to inspire others through storytelling, mentoring, and entrepreneurial initiatives.
