Renny Gleeson

Renny Gleeson has been interactive since he got his TRS-80 RadioShack microcomputer in the 70s. He's worked all sides of the interactive marketing space from client to agency, to publishing/sales beginning his career as an animator and game designer creating online and CD-ROM games, before helping to found Saatchi & Saatchis Darwin Digital company in 1997.

Renny went client-side as the Senior VP of Marketing for dELiA*s, a teen girl clothing/catalog company. Gleeson was later recruited by the National Basketball Association to be their Senior Director of Global Media and Interactive Marketing, where he created mobile programs and programming, oversaw fantasy game-related syndication revenue and developed interactive platforms for NBA corporate partners. He left the NBA in 2005 to head up the New York and Atlanta offices of Carat Fusion.

Renny has found his spiritual home at W+K as the Global Director of Interactive Strategies when he joined in 2006. In short, he shapes the vision they provide clients to navigate the perils and promises of the brave new digital world. At the moment, that means embracing the newfound power consumers have to opt in or out of a relationship with a brand. He believes W+K is uniquely positioned to help clients cultivate these relationships because they build stories that reward consumers with inspiration, imagination, and creativity.

Renny is never without his Nokia N96, Nokia N810, MacBook Pro with broadband wireless connection, iPod touch, Livescribe pen, multiport USB hub, and a power strip, because sharing is caring.
