Renu S. Persaud Biography
Dr. Renu Persaud holds a PhD from the University of Toronto. She is a faculty award-winning Lecturing professor of Sociology at the University of Windsor, Canada. Her book The Mastery of You won a Reader’s Favourite Silver Medal and has been nominated for a Governor General’s Award and an RBC Taylor Prize and is available internationally. People everywhere have embraced her ideas about self-worth and self-care.
As the world’s foremost social scientist on self-worth, her work articulates research, poetry and personal experiences. She has been featured in the Windsor Star, Thrive Global and many other international publications for the uniqueness of her work.
Dr. Persaud has been invited to lecture around the world. Her TEDx Talk on the Paradox of Selfishness has been viewed thousands of times. She was invited to TEDWomen to share her work about self-care which started a worldwide conversation on the importance of self-care for individuals and professionals.
Dr. Persaud is a mental health consultant with focus on self-worth and self-care.
Her most recent work is re-writing the Canadian version of a sociology textbook entitled "Life in Society."
She lives in Windsor, Ontario with her husband and two daughters.
