Actress and comedian Retta has captivated audiences with her humorous and precise performances. From making homeowners' renovation dreams a reality on "Ugliest House in America" to her role as the beloved Donna Meagle in "Parks and Recreation," and her dramatic portrayal of Ruby Hill in the NBC series "Good Girls," she continues to demonstrate her versatility across genres.

In addition to her acting career, Retta is also a published author. Her book, "So Close To Being the Sh*t Y’all Don’t Even Know," has been well-received, and she also narrated the audiobook version, showcasing her vocal talents. Her voice work extends to the Audible Original audiobook "Tinaca Jones," where she is the title voice.

Retta's journey began in New Jersey, where she was born to Liberian parents. She graduated from Duke University with a pre-med degree. Opting to take a year off before medical school, Retta worked as a chemist, later deciding to pursue her passion for acting. Her comedy career started in Los Angeles where she quickly became a popular act on the college circuit. Her success in Comedy Central's Laugh Riots Stand-Up Competition led to her appearance on the New Faces Showcase at Montreal's Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, which subsequently led to a development deal with ABC/Disney. Retta's diverse roles in television and film include appearances in "It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia," "Key and Peele," "Comedy Central Presents...Retta," and films like "Good Boys" and "Father Figures."
