Richard Thomas first gained recognition for his role as John-Boy Walton in the CBS drama series "The Waltons," which earned him an Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series in 1973. Thomas continued to build his career in television, with roles in the 1990 miniseries adaptation of Stephen King's "It" as Bill Denbrough, and as Special Agent Frank Gaad on FX's spy thriller series "The Americans," which debuted in 2013. His involvement in television extended to Netflix's "Ozark" in 2022, where he portrayed Wendy Byrde's estranged father, Nathan Davis.
Thomas demonstrated his versatility as an actor by transitioning between television and theater. In 2017, his performance in the Broadway revival of "The Little Foxes" earned him a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play.
