Ricky Hurtado Biography
Ricky Hurtado is the coexecutive director of the North Carolina Scholar's Latinx Initiative alongside Elaine Townsend Utin. Throughout his career, Hurtado has worked to break down barriers for first-generation college students to give educational opportunities to immigrant families in North Carolina. The NC Scholars' Latinx Initiative was recognized as a Bright Spot in Hispanic Education for its efforts in supporting Latinx student success by the White House and Utin and Hurtado were recognized as Forbes 30 Under 30 honorees for education.
Hurtado received a master's degree from Princeton University.
