Rita Wilson

Born Margarit Ibrahimoff, actress, singer, and producer Rita Wilson is known for her roles in films such as "Sleepless in Seattle" and "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". She also has television appearances in series like "The Good Wife," "Girls," and "Law & Order: SVU." Her acting prowess extends to Broadway, where she has been a part of productions such as "Fish in the Dark."

Having traveled to England to study her craft at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Wilson landed a leading film role opposite her now husband Tom Hanks in the 1985 comedy "Volunteers". Hanks and Wilson would become one of Hollywood's greatest romances, and have two children together, sons Chester and Truman.

Wilson runs her own production company called Artistic Films, through which she spearheaded several international blockbusters. Some of her biggest successes as a producer are "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and "Mamma Mia!".

In addition to her acting career, Wilson is also a singer-songwriter and has released solo albums, including "AM/FM" and "Peaceful Easy Feeling." She has collaborated with artists like Tom Hanks, Brad Paisley, and Dolly Parton. She's also been recognized for her contributions to Greek culture and was part of the White House Greek Independence Celebration.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, Wilson had a double mastectomy. She credits her recovery to early detection of her cancer. Having lost her mother to the disease, Wilson is an advocate for awareness and prevention of Alzheimer's disease. Additionally, she is a contributing editor to Harper's Bazaar and HuffPost 50, supports causes like women's cancer research, and has been honored by the Women's Cancer Research Fund for her activism.
