Robert Laszewski

Robert Laszewski is the President of Health Policy and Strategy Associates, Inc. (HPSA), a consulting firm specializing in health policy and market change. Before founding HPSA in 1992, Laszewski was chief operating officer of a health and group benefits insurer. He also publishes the "Health Policy and Marketplace Review" blog, which focuses on health care policy and marketplace activities.

The majority of Laszewski's professional activities involve direct involvement in the marketplace as it addresses health care cost and quality challenges. His clients include health insurance companies, casualty insurance companies, HMOs, Blue Cross organizations, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and physician groups. HPSA has been instrumental in the development of organized delivery systems and strategic planning for numerous clients responding to policy and market-driven change.

Laszewski has participated extensively in the U.S. health care debate, particularly regarding health insurance reform. He has made media appearances on major networks such as ABC, NBC, CNN, PBS, and NPR, and has been quoted in publications like The Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post. He has chaired international meetings in Washington, DC on international prescription drug pricing and medical technology use in Europe versus the U.S. Additionally, Laszewski was named the Washington Post's Wonkblog "Pundit of the Year" for 2013, underscoring his significant impact on health policy discourse. He was also a founding board member of the bipartisan Alliance for Health Reform.
