Romeo Santos

Anthony Santos, known professionally as Romeo Santos, is an American singer, record producer, featured composer and former lead singer of the Bachata group Aventura. As a member of Aventura, Santos has been a key figure in popularizing Bachata, with hits reaching near the top of the Billboard Latin charts and the top of charts in Europe. In 2002, the band's song "Obsesión" was No. 1 in Italy for 16 consecutive weeks. After releasing several albums with Aventura the group went its separate ways. Since then Romeo has embarked on a solo career which in three years has spawned seven No. 1 songs on the Hot Latin charts and eight No. 1 on the Hot tropical songs chart. His first album, Formula Vol. 1, shipped over 300,000 copies and his second album has already shipped over 240,000 copies.

Santos was born in The Bronx, New York City, United States to a Dominican father and a Puerto Rican mother. At ten years of age, he became a member of the church choir. While the group performs in both English and Spanish, their work was widely ignored by the English-language media during the early part of their career. On May 9, 2011, Santos released his first single, "You," from his solo debut album, Formula, Vol. 1. The song became a No. 1 debut on the Hot Latin Songs and Tropical Songs chart. The second single revealed from his album was "Promise," which features a duet with Usher. The single has peaked at number No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart and No. 1 on the Tropical Songs chart. His second studio album Formula, Vol. 2 was released on February 25, 2014. The album contains collaborations with Drake, Nicki Minaj, Marc Anthony, Carlos Santana, Tego Calderón and Kevin Hart.
