Romesh Ranganathan

Romesh Ranganathan is a British stand-up comedian, actor, and television presenter known for his distinctive deadpan style and sharp wit.

Romesh gained widespread recognition through appearances on British comedy panel shows such as "Mock the Week," "Have I Got News for You," "8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown," and "Would I Lie to You?" His unique humor and charm also led to him hosting and starring in several television programs. Notably, he became the host of "The Ranganation," a topical BBC Two comedy show where he discusses current events with a panel of 25 everyday people from different walks of life.

Romesh has hosted several of his own TV series, including "Asian Provocateur," a travel documentary in which he explores his Sri Lankan heritage, and "The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan," where he visits unusual travel destinations. He also co-hosts the Sky One series "A League of Their Own," a sports-based panel show.

Ranganathan has released stand-up specials, including "Irrational" and "The Cynic," showcasing his sarcastic and observational comedy style. He has written several books about his life and experiences.

Born in Crawley, West Sussex, England, to Sri Lankan Tamil parents, Romesh initially worked as a math teacher before pursuing a career in comedy. He started performing stand-up in small clubs while teaching, eventually transitioning to comedy full-time.
