Ron Adner

Ron Adner is The Leverone Memorial Professor of Business Administration and Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. Prior to joining Tuck, he served as the Akzo-Nobel Fellow of Strategic Management at INSEAD for ten years. His research focuses on innovation, strategy, and entrepreneurship, particularly examining the dynamics of competition and value creation in disrupted industry ecosystems.

Dr. Adner’s notable contributions to the field include his books, "The Wide Lens: What Successful Innovators See that Others Miss", which was named a “Best Business Book of 2012” by Strategy+Business and was also a Finalist for the Academy of Management Terry Book Award, and “Winning the Right Game: How to Disrupt, Defend, and Deliver in a Changing World” (2021). His work has been recognized as groundbreaking, with accolades from prominent figures such as Clayton Christensen and Jim Collins, and his term ‘Wide Lens’ approach to strategy has been applied globally in various organizations.

An elected Fellow of the Strategic Management Society, Dr. Adner has contributed extensively to academic literature, with his research published in Management Science, Organization Science, and Strategic Management Journal. He is also a prolific writer in managerial circles, with articles featured in Harvard Business Review, MIT/Sloan Management Review, and The Wall Street Journal. His article "Match Your Innovation Strategy to Your Innovation Ecosystem" is widely used across MBA programs internationally.

Dr. Adner actively engages with businesses worldwide as a keynote speaker, consultant, and advisor, helping them navigate complex strategic landscapes. His teaching excellence is well-recognized, having won multiple awards for teaching at both Tuck and INSEAD. Dr. Adner holds a PhD and an MA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as master's and bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.
