Ron Crawford Biography
Ron Crawford is the VP of Global Benefits at Starbucks. He joined the company in 2011, after a long career in insurance. During his time at the coffee company, Crawford has been instrumental in introducing the benefits that Starbucks has become famous for. In 2014, he led the rollout of the college achievement program, which allows Starbucks employees to earn their bachelor’s degree with full tuition overage through Arizona State University. In January 2018, he oversaw the extension of the paid parental leave policy to include hourly workers.
In October 2018, he led the effort to introduce the Care@Work initiative in partnership with family care platform Care.com. This benefit, available to US-based staff, provides support to employees who require backup care for children, adults, or seniors. Employees will receive ten subsidized backup care days per year, and also have access to unlimited senior planning as well as a premium membership to Care.com at no cost.
