Ron Shirley is the star of "Lizard Lick Towing" on truTV. The show, with multiple seasons under its belt, continues to be a huge hit. In addition to being a television personality, Ron is husband, father, avid hunter, ordained pastor, author and charity activist.

Ron Shirley has a resume unlike most, and he also has quite a story to tell.

After leaving college due to a football injury, Ron decided to enter the automotive world. With several years of experience in the industry, Ron dove into repossessions. He and his wife Amy started their business, Lizard Lick Towing and Recovery in the spring of 1998. Their show centers around the dramatic and unpredictable world of vehicle repossessions at Lizard Lick Towing.

Well before the lights and cameras of television, Ron Shirley describes himself as an overweight, glasses wearing, dirt poor child who overcame bullying, being struck by lightening and addiction. His lifestyle was rough, even going through a period of being homeless. Ron however, was able to turn his life around, find his soul mate in his wife Amy, build a towing business, raise a family and star in his wildly successful reality show.

Ron's life has been one of survival, perseverance and adaptation. Whether a small group or large, Ron has an inspiring message of motivation, self worth, validation and learning how to not just survive, but thrive in today's society. Ron and his wife Amy are both very open about their Christianity. With his openness about faith, comes a love for speaking to troubled youth, church groups or Christian organizations. He speaks openly about faith, prayer, salvation and the important role God has played in his life. Dedicated to family, Ron loves inspiring kids and teaching them about goals, conquering bullying and overcoming challenges. Quite the Renaissance man, Ron surprises many with his love for chess, his passion for the arts (especially paintings and poetry) and his hunting and fishing expertise.

He's known for his quick wit and one-liners that are affectionately called "Ronisms." He turned his bevy of wacky phrases into a hit book called "Lizard Tales: The Wit and Wisdom of Ron Shirley," which was published in November 2012. The memoir takes readers on a side-splitting trip through his crazy, colorful life of growing up and raising heck in the Carolina countryside.

Lizard Lick Towing's popularity continues to rise, and it currently ranks among basic cable's top five programs in its time slot with total viewers and key adults.
