Ronald Henkoff

Ronald Henkoff, the editor of Bloomberg Markets magazine since June 1999 and an executive editor of Bloomberg News, has been a business journalist for more than three decades. Before joining Bloomberg News in April 1998 as global features editor, Henkoff worked at Fortune magazine from 1988 to 1998, where he was Chicago bureau chief and a member of the Board of Editors. Prior to that, from 1978 to 1988, he worked for Newsweek magazine in New York, Houston, and London. He was Newsweek’s European economics editor from 1984 to 1988. During Henkoff’s tenure as editor, Bloomberg Markets has won numerous major journalism awards in the U.S. and the U.K., including George Polk, Overseas Press Club of America (OPC), Gerald Loeb, Society of Business Editors & Writers, and Foreign Press Association (U.K). Henkoff has personally won the Minard Prize for excellence in editing and has twice received an OPC for reporting from abroad. In 2011, Bloomberg Markets was a finalist in General Excellence at the National Magazine Awards, and its reporting was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. Henkoff holds a B.A. (cum laude) from Carleton College, an M.S. from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, and an M.A. in international history from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
