Rosanne Haggerty

Rosanne Haggerty, currently serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Community Solutions, has devoted her career to combating housing issues and homelessness. Her approach to these societal problems has been recognized with a multitude of awards, including the 1998 Peter Drucker Award, the 2001 MacArthur Fellows Program, and the 2012 Jane Jacobs Medal for New Ideas and Activism from the Rockefeller Foundation. Haggerty has demonstrated her expertise in her field through initiatives such as the "100,000 Homes" and "Built for Zero" campaigns, which aim to provide permanent, supportive housing to the homeless population.

Prior to her role at Community Solutions, Haggerty founded Common Ground Community, an organization known for its innovative strategies in supportive housing and solutions to homelessness. Her leadership skills were further showcased when she led the redevelopment of the Times Square Hotel, an initiative that considerably reduced homelessness in the area. This experience, along with her previous accomplishments, led to her recognition as the Social Entrepreneur of the Year by the Schwab Foundation in 2015. That same year, she was awarded the National Design Award by the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum.

Outside of her primary roles, Haggerty has also held the position of Adelaide Thinker in Residence, where her recommendations led to substantial investments in housing for the homeless in Adelaide, Australia. She has received numerous honorary degrees, including a 2003 Honorary Doctorate from Amherst College and a 2017 Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Emmanuel College in Massachusetts. Further demonstrating her influence and expertise, Haggerty was a former Japan Society Public Policy Fellow, a MacArthur Foundation Fellow, an Ashoka Senior Fellow, and a Hunt Alternative Fund Prime Mover.
