Ross Rowbury

Ross Rowbury, originally from Australia, has been living and working in Japan for four decades. He began his career in finance in Tokyo during the early 1980s, later transitioning into public relations and communications. He has held senior positions at firms such as Gavin Anderson & Co. (now Kreab) and PRAP Japan. He served as President and CEO of Edelman Japan for ten years until July 2020.

In October 2020, Rowbury joined Nomura Holdings as Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of Group Corporate Communications. He is also a visiting professor of Asian marketing at Doshisha University in Kyoto and serves on the board of TELL, a suicide prevention and mental health non-profit organization.

Throughout his career, Rowbury has been advising both foreign and Japanese companies on public relations, media strategy, and implementation. He has a wealth of experience in management training, strategic consulting, and comprehensive communications disciplines. His extensive experience and deep understanding of Japan's business landscape have made him a respected figure in the fields of corporate communications and public relations.

In addition to his professional roles, Rowbury hosts the "Sustainability Roundtable" series with The Japan Times, where he discusses various topics related to sustainability and corporate responsibility.
