Roy Neel

Roy Neel has been pivotal in various significant national and international initiatives. He served as Chief of Staff to Congressman, Senator, and Vice President Al Gore, and as Deputy Chief of Staff to President Bill Clinton. Furthermore, Neel was involved in the management of the White House's daily operations during his tenure under President Clinton.

Neel played a key role in Gore's 2000 Presidential transition, navigating the complexities of the Florida recount. He also spearheaded Howard Dean's campaign during the 2004 presidential primaries. In his capacity as Chief of Staff for Al Gore, Neel not only co-founded the Climate Project, an initiative dedicated to training global climate change messengers, but also contributed to the development of the Academy Award-winning documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" and its best-selling companion book.

An Adjunct Professor of Political Science at Vanderbilt University, Neel teaches courses on the U.S. Presidency, White House operations, Presidential Campaigns, and Presidential Transitions. His expertise in these areas is widely recognized, making him a respected national authority on Presidential Transitions and White House operations. He has also authored "The Electors," a thriller that delves into the intricacies of the American electoral system. Additionally, Neel's diverse career includes roles as a sportswriter, Navy journalist, aerial photographer, and President and CEO of the U.S. Telecom Association from 1994 to 2000, where he championed telecom deregulation. He also contributed to the development of the Acela high-speed rail project as a corporate director of Amtrak. Neel holds degrees from Vanderbilt University and Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and is a frequent political commentator on network television.
