Ruchin Kansal is Vice President, Digital Business Strategy and Global Head for Healthcare, Insurance and Life Sciences at Virtusa (NASDAQ:VRTU). Reporting into the President, he is incubating the Digital Business Strategy practice to diversify customer base and revenues in support of company’s goal of becoming a $5 Billion enterprise by 2025. He is responsible for driving thought leadership, service offerings, competitive positioning and go-to-market approach, business development, marketing, media relations and talent development.
Ruchin brings strategy consulting experience from his stints at Deloitte and Gemini Consulting/Capgemini where he has helped global organizations in Healthcare, Insurance and Life Sciences on topics ranging from developing growth & innovation strategies, launching new ventures and organizations, building digital health businesses, negotiating strategic partnerships, establishing ecosystem collaborations and driving innovation within large corporations. Ruchin also served as the Head for Business Innovation at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals Inc, where he established and led their first Business Innovation division. In this role, he was responsible for setting and managing company-wide growth focused innovation agenda, launching the company’s first Digital Health team, building ecosystem collaborations with customers to co- create health solutions, and driving culture change.

In 2016, Medical Marketing & Media recognized Ruchin with its annual Top 40 Healthcare Transformers Award. He received Boehringer Ingelheim’s President’s Award for initiating the company’s first Patient Engagement Strategy. Ruchin has been invited to the White House Office of Science and Technology Partnerships to share ideas on healthcare research. He served on the Board of Directors for Stanford Medicine X from 2014-2017, and currently serves on the Board of Weston Education Foundation.
Ruchin received his MBA from NYU-Stern, bachelor’s from IIT, Roorkee (India) and leadership training at Duke University and Kunshan University (China).
In his free time, Ruchin enjoys spending time with his wife Gunjan (a physician), son Neil (sophomore in high school and a budding cellist) and their dog Roo. They like to travel together, having visited all 50 states in the US, and more than 30 countries and counting.
