Safi Rauf Biography
Rauf is the founder of Human First Coalition, an organization dedicated to providing aid to Afghanistan and beyond. Rauf leads a team of hundreds to provide food, medical care and resettlement services to over 15,000 Afghans in need. His organization has evacuated over 7,000 people, including 1,400 U.S. nationals, since the Taliban seized control of the country. His work was interrupted earlier this year when he was unlawfully detained and held by the Taliban for over 100 days before being released in April 2022. An Afghan refugee, Rauf immigrated to the U.S. as a teenager and was later deployed to Afghanistan as a linguist and cultural advisor embedded with Special Operations and was also enlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserves as a corpsman. He is currently on a nationwide tour to garner support for the Afghan Adjustment Act.
