Sally Field, an actress with a career that spans five decades, started her journey in television with notable roles in comedies like "Gidget," "The Flying Nun," and "The Girl with Something Extra." Her first film appearance was in "Moon Pilot," and she later had starring roles in several popular films such as "Norma Rae," "Places in the Heart," "Smokey and the Bandit," and "Forrest Gump." Field returned to television in the 2000s, earning an Emmy Award for her guest role on the medical drama "ER" and for her leading role in the drama series "Brothers & Sisters." Her portrayal of Mary Todd Lincoln in the film "Lincoln" garnered her an Academy Award nomination.

Field's versatility extends beyond the screen to the stage. She debuted professionally in the original Broadway production of Edward Albee's "The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?" in 2002. Returning to the stage in 2017 in the revival of Tennessee Williams's "The Glass Menagerie" earned her a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play nomination. Field also made her West End theatre debut in the revival of Arthur Miller's "All My Sons" in 2019.

In 2014, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the National Medal of Arts, further asserting her influence in the film industry.
