British Nigerian singer-songwriter Samm Henshaw incorporates retro soul and gospel influences into his uplifting and energetic R&B sound.
The son of a reverend, Henshaw first got interested in music in the church. He grew up in South London and went on to study music at Solent University in Southampton.
After landing a deal with Columbia, he issued his debut EP, The Sound Experiment, in 2015.
Following tours with both James Bay and Chance the Rapper, Henshaw released his second EP, The Sound Experiment 2 in 2016.
A string of singles followed, including 2019’s inspiring “Church,” featuring EARTHGANG, a clear nod to his religious roots.
