Sammy Watkins

Sammy Watkins is a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs. Watkins played his college football at Clemson University and was drafted 4th overall by the Buffalo Bills in the 2014 NFL Draft.

In his freshman year at Clemson Watkins burst onto the scene catching 82 passes for 1219 yards and 12 touchdowns. He led the nation in reception yards per game, all-purpose yards and touchdowns. He was named 2011 ACC Rookie of the Year as well as named an AP first-team All-American becoming only the fourth ever true freshman to do so joining Herschel Walker, Marshall Faulk and Adrian Peterson. He continued his success throughout his three year career at Clemson. Adding another AP first-team All-American position, as well as being named the MVP of the 2014 Orange Bowl.

Watkins was drafted 4th overall by the Buffalo Bills in the 2014 NFL draft. As he did in college he quickly burst onto the scene of the NFL. His 125 catches and 2,029 yards from 2014-15 were the most ever by a Bills player in their first two NFL seasons. From 2014-17, Watkins ranked fourth in yards per reception (15.9) among players with 100 or more catches in that span. Only DeSean Jackson (17.6), Tyrell Williams (16.5) and T.Y. Hilton (16.3) were ahead of him in that category. Among those four players, Watkins has the most touchdowns with 25 in 52 games. Following his time with the Buffalo Bills, Watkins joined the Los Angeles Rams where he would lead the team in 2017 with eight receiving touchdowns.

In March of 2018, Watkins signed a three-year $48 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. Watkins quickly became of the staples of the Chiefs high powered offense. Watkins helped lead the Chiefs to become Super Bowl LIV Champions where he caught 5 passes for 98 yards in the victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
