Sandra Appiah

Sandra Appiah is the co-founder and former CEO of pan-African media company Face2Face Africa.

Appiah is also co-founder and president of PanaGenius Inc., a U.S.-based pan-African tech company building and operating the most impactful, admired, and authoritative digital media brands for global blacks. The company is home to brands like Appiah's own Face2face Africa, one of the largest and fastest-growing black-owned media platforms, which currently reaches over 5 million monthly readers across the world.

Appiah is passionate about using media and technology to connect black communities and speak authentically to the stories that shape and define their experiences as global black citizens. Appiah was born in Ghana and grew up in Italy and the United States. In 2013, she was featured in Forbes’ inaugural 30 African Entrepreneurs Under 30 list.

Appiah attended high school in the Bronx, where she graduated as valedictorian and received a scholarship to the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She majored in television, radio, and film with a minor in acting, and graduated magna cum laude, supported by the New York Times College Scholarship and the Jonathan Levin Scholarship.

After graduation from Syracuse, Appiah worked at The New York Times, HBO, and MTV and made several documentaries before launching Face2Face Africa in 2011.
