Sandra Dubose

Sandra Dubose, is affectionately known as the Bald Beauty Queen but despite the confident way in which she wears it, she is NOT bald by choice. At the age of twenty-five, Dubose began her journey with the incurable autoimmune disease, Alopecia Areata. Within three years, she had permanently lost all of the hair on her scalp and body. This traumatic experience initially caused her to live with feelings of low self-esteem and situational depression. She uncomfortably hid her baldness underneath a wig for years; however, through much soul-searching, spiritual development, mental fortitude and by using the foundation of principles she teaches as a Personal Development Coach, Sandra has reclaimed her confidence and turned that pain into a source of power.

In 2008, Dubose ditched the wig and embraced her new look of BOLD, Bald Beauty. Her life altering experience ignited her passion and purpose to become the change she wanted to see in the world. She vowed to use her voice and artistry to advocate for autoimmune disease awareness, promote women’s health and empower others with the tools to build healthy self-esteem regardless of their challenges. In 2011, she made North Carolina history when she competed bald in a state wide beauty pageant and was crowned – Mrs. Black North Carolina. Dubose became a local hero – and a role model for women (and men) of all ages. Through her leadership within the community, she has become a recipient of numerous awards, and is also the author of “My Crown and Glory, It’s Not about the Hair.” In this book, she shares her personal life lessons and the six principles she used to shift her life from being a victim to being victory personified. Sandra has a new reason to sing, and she brings all of her heart and soul to the stage. Sandra Dubose lives her song and is a living example of her powerful message of the difference self-love and true self-acceptance can truly make.
