Sara Lomelin

Sara Lomelin is the founding CEO of Philanthropy Together, a 5-year global initiative to grow and strengthen the global giving circle movement. She is a connector of people and ideas, a relationship builder and a firm believer that everyone can be a philanthropist.

Launched in 2020, Philanthropy Together has secured support from the Gates Foundation, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, the Lodestar Foundation and Google. Under her leadership, the organization has trained more than 600 community leaders on how to create their giving circles for a cause of their choosing.

A self-proclaimed philanthropy disruptor, Lomelin has traveled the world speaking about the power of collective giving and the correlation between civic engagement and Latino philanthropy. Prior to Philanthropy Together, Lomelin served as Senior Director of Leadership Philanthropy at Opportunity Fund (now Accion Opportunity Fund) and Vice President of Philanthropy at the Latino Community Foundation, where she created the Latino Giving Circle Network,™ the largest network of Latinx philanthropists in the US.

Her expertise has been featured in ForbesWomen, The Associated Press and The Chronicle of Philanthropy, among others; in 2023, Forbes, named her to their "50 Over 50" list. She is frequently featured at high profile conferences and events for innovative leaders and big ideas, including TED 2022, Netroots Nation, and Unity Summit.

Lomelin currently serves on the National Council of the Women’s Philanthropy Institute at Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and the Board of Directors of Giving Tuesday and Battery Powered.
