Sara Safari

Sara Safari is an author, speaker, mountain climber, college professor, and Electrical Engineer dedicated to women's empowerment. In 2015, she survived the avalanches on Mt. Everest caused by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Nepal, during which she was climbing to raise awareness and funds for the empowerment of women. Safari's efforts also extended to helping the victims and families affected by the earthquake, where approximately 10,000 people lost their lives and about 100,000 children were displaced.

Safari has authored the book "Follow My Footsteps" and has received multiple accolades for her contributions to social causes and leadership. These include the Global Citizen award from the United Nations Association in 2015, and the award for Outstanding Practice with Broad Impact in the area of women and leadership from the International Leadership Association in 2017. She is a board member and director of development for the Empower Nepali Girls foundation, furthering her commitment to advocacy and support for disadvantaged groups.

In addition to her climbing endeavors, Safari aims to be the first Iranian to climb the Seven Summits, the highest peaks on each continent, by July 2018. She is actively working on a documentary film that addresses complex social justice issues and continues to share her experiences and stories through her books and films. Safari aims to inspire and make a significant impact on global issues of justice and equality.
