Sasheer Zamata

Sasheer Zamata just wrapped filming the Marvel limited series, “Agatha: Coven of Chaos.”

She starred in the ABC show "Home Economics" with Topher Grace and in Showtime's “Waco: Aftermath” alongside Michael Shannon. Her previous television credits include "WOKE" on HULU, “Saturday Night Live,” where she was a cast member from January 18, 2014, until May 20, 2017, and various guest appearances on shows like "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" and radio shows including "This American Life."

On the feature side, Zamata has worked in a variety of films. She starred opposite Joe Keery in Eugene Kotlyarenko's independent feature "Spree," which premiered at Sundance. Additionally, she featured in Lionsgate's Stella Meghie-directed, "The Weekend" opposite Dewanda Wise, which was shown at TIFF, SXSW, and Tribeca before its theatrical release. Other notable films include "Sleight," "I Feel Pretty," and "Deirdre and Laney Rob A Train."

Zamata is also a well-known stand-up comedian, host of the live variety show "Sasheer Zamata Party Time," and the podcast “Best Friends,” with Nicole Byer on the Earwolf network. Her standup special "Pizza Mind" is available on Amazon Prime and Starz, and can be listened to on iTunes and Spotify. She also serves as ACLU's Celebrity Ambassador for Women's Rights and remains active in comedy, performing at major festivals such as Clusterfest, Just for Laughs, Bonnaroo, SXSW, and the New York Comedy Festival.
