Scott Bolland

Dr Scott Bolland is an AI researcher, entrepreneur, international speaker, facilitator, and futurist. His PhD and background (of 25 years) are in the area of Cognitive Science - the scientific study of how the mind works, spanning areas such as psychology, neuroscience, philosophy and artificial intelligence (AI). His passion is playing in the intersection between these areas, in particular, how to best prepare individuals, teams, schools and companies to flourish in the modern world.

His interests, keynotes and workshops revolve around two main themes: WHAT we should be teaching, and HOW we should be teaching, in order to maximize human potential.

Regarding, “HOW” we should teach, Bolland’s TEDx talk entitled "Neuroscience, AI, and the Future of Education" has been seen by close to 120,000 viewers, and has led to him to consult for Ministries of Education across the globe, top Universities and Education Policy makers of the European Commission. This presentation is based on his own work in Education Technology, backed by some of Australia’s leading technology entrepreneurs, and working alongside world leading memory experts. His company, New Dawn Technologies, utilises AI to help personalize education, to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.

Regarding “WHAT” we should teach, over the years Bolland has brought the latest research-backed insights from Positive Psychology, neuroscience, leadership, and high-performance teamwork to a wide range of clients including business schools, the military, police services, resource companies, and financial institutions and has delivered large scale Positive Psychology based events to tens of thousands of school and corporate staff. His company, The Agile Life, specializes in using agile and design thinking methodologies to help individuals and organisations navigate complex challenges in these uncertain times.

Bolland also is a trained singer, who often uses live music in his presentations to create an emotional narrative designed to entertain, challenge and inspire.
