Scott Zimmer

A proud Gen Xer, Scott Zimmer has been one of BridgeWorks’ generational keynote speakers for the past eight years. His presentations illustrate the common clashes and misunderstandings between generations, and provide straightforward solutions to help companies bridge generational gaps around communication and collaboration, recruitment and retention, diversity and inclusion, and most recently, hybrid work. Zimmer believes customization is the key to a successful session, so he works hard to understand each of his client’s specific needs. He has developed sessions like "Connecting Across Generations" and "That Meeting Could Have Been an Email," which focus on improving communication and collaboration across various age groups.

Zimmer used his love of nostalgia and pop culture (he was a big fan of Atari and He-Man) and generational expertise to develop BridgeWorks’ generational trivia show, GenPop. He also hosts "PopQuiz: The Pop Culture Trivia Show," an interactive entertainment show that engages audiences with generational nostalgia.

Zimmer grew up on a dairy farm in central Minnesota where he mastered the art of bailing hay and milking cows. He graduated from St. John’s University in 2000 with a BA in communications. In addition to researching and presenting, Zimmer is a self-proclaimed movie-buff and is always game to try the latest restaurant or craft beer hotspot. His presentations also discuss the implications of generational transitions in various industries, with keynotes such as "When Wealth Changes Hands" and "The Future of Trades and Manufacturing," providing insights into generational strategies and workforce integration.

Zimmer has developed a uniquely personable style and uses insight, humor, and data to foster an environment where every generation feels valued and understood.
