Scout Taylor-Compton began acting when she was nine with a featured role in the A.F.I. film A. W. O. L., starring David Morse. In the half dozen years that followed, her performances in six independent films, some fifteen student films, and three music videos, formed the firm foundation, which led to her present leading role in Sleepover, a feature film for MGM. Joe Nussbaum (George Lucas in Love) directed this teenage adventure, which also stars Alexa Vega, Mika Boorem, Kallie Flynn Childress, Sara Paxton and Brie Larson.
Just prior to Sleepover, Scout completed a co-lead role in Jennifer Garner’s film, 13 Going on 30.
Before Sleepover, Scout’s remarkable acting diversity became more and more apparent and noteworthy in a variety of films, including the Hallmark channel movie, Audrey’s Rain, Seven Songs, a biog about rock star Chris Eigeman; Power Up Films’ Chicken Night, in which Scout, at her best and displaying another facet of her talent, sings the theme song; and plays herself auditioning for a movie in Four Fingers of the Dragon, a comedic satire and behind-the-scenes look at Kung-Fu.
Scout’s first series pilot is the recently completed hour-long legal drama for Lifetime Television, titled Class Actions. It stars Diane Venora and Scout plays her daughter. Other television guest credits include recurring roles on The Guardian and Gilmore Girls plus appearances on The Division, Lyon’s Den, ER, Charmed, Ally McBeal and several stints on The Tonight Show.
Her voice over credits include recent loopings for Disney’s Princess Diaries 2, and CBS’s Hack; two films with Academy Award winning actors: The Core, starring Hillary Swank and I Am Sam, starring Sean Penn; and as narrator for Chicken Night. On stage, Scout has played the title roles in the musical Annie and the drama Anne Frank.
A home schooled tenth grader with a 4.0 grade point average, Scout continues her training in acting, dance and voice with top coaches, currently preparing for her first CD, while also participating in charity projects for disabled and disadvantaged children as a Celebrity Youth Member of Kids with a Cause. Her hobbies and interests are writing poetry and songs, drums, world cultures and oceanography, softball, volleyball and enjoying her twin cats. As if that were not sufficient, Scout hopes to soon acquire a monkey, a couple of crabs and a Chihuahua.
