Sean Swarner

With only one functioning lung and a prognosis of fourteen days to live, while having been in a medically-induced coma for a year, Sean Swarner is the first cancer survivor to stand on top of the world—Mt. Everest. Sean has broken through defined human limitations to redefine the way the world views success.

Sean was diagnosed with two deadly, different, and unrelated forms of cancer, once at the age of thirteen and again at the age of sixteen. After receiving an incredibly poor prognosis, and being read his last rites, he astounded the medical community by surviving both these brutal diseases. He understood that after defeating cancer twice, no challenge would ever be too great, no peak too high.

Sean proved his theory when he crested the peak of Mt. Everest. As the first cancer survivor to do so, he embarked on further adventures, completing the "7-Summits" by reaching the highest peaks in Africa, Europe, South America, Australia, Antarctica, and North America. Upon skiing to both the South and North Poles, Sean achieved the Explorer’s Grand Slam. Additionally, his completion of the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii marks him as the only person in history to accomplish these extraordinary feats.

As Sean continues to defy the odds, test his endurance, and inspire people globally, he shares his message of healing, hope, and triumph with cancer communities and others facing significant challenges. He is also a source of motivation as the founder of the nonprofit organization, The CancerClimber Association. An author of "Keep Climbing" and "EVEREST: Being Unstoppable," his literary works and workshops are centered on themes like resilience, overcoming adversity, and discovering inner strength. Whether addressing corporate executives, educational institutions, or public seminars, Sean customizes his presentations to connect deeply with his audience, encouraging personal and professional growth.
