Seth Davis

Seth Davis is an award-winning sports writer and broadcaster known for his deep involvement in college basketball. Since 2004, Davis has been a significant part of CBS Sports’ studio coverage of college basketball and the NCAA Tournament. He has also served as a staff writer for Sports Illustrated for over two decades and currently writes as a Senior Writer for college basketball at The Athletic. Additionally, Davis contributes a weekly "Inside College Basketball" column in Sports Illustrated and a "Hoop Thoughts" column on SI.com.

Davis is the author of five books, including the New York Times bestsellers "Wooden: A Coach’s Life", which chronicles the life of longtime UCLA coach John Wooden, and "When March Went Mad: The Game Transformed Basketball", which explores the 1979 NCAA championship game between Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. His most recent publication, "Getting to Us: How Great Coaches Make Great Teams", profiles elite coaches like Mike Krzyzewski, Doc Rivers, and Dabo Swinney, examining their leadership styles using the PEAK profile (Persistence, Empathy, Authenticity, and Knowledge). He has also penned the 2001 memoir "Equinunk, Tell Your Story: My Return to Summer Camp."

Beyond his writing and analytical roles, Davis has a notable presence in broadcasting and public speaking. He has experience as a sideline reporter for NFL football alongside Jim Nantz and Phil Simms, and has appeared on various television and radio shows including "The Best Damn Sports Show", "Pardon The Interruption", and ESPN's "Mike and Mike in the Morning".
