Sharul Channa

Sharul Channa is formally trained in theater from Lasalle College of the Arts, and has worked with many notable theater companies and directors in Singapore like TNS (The Necessary Stage)

Channa has produced and starred in a range of one-woman character-driven Stand-up shows like “Potty Mouth”, “Disco Sheela & Other Indian Superwomen” that have filled venues in Singapore and all over Asia as well as Australia. After a very successful 2023 Channa took her show Just Joking on an all Indian and eventual world tour.

Apart from her theater work, Channa engages with local TV channels like “Mediacorp” and “CNA” to create content for the local audiences of Singapore.

Channa also plays the voice of “Priya” in the Singaporean animated sitcom “Downstairs” which has just been renewed for its 3rd season on NETFLIX.

Channa was also featured in the HARPERS BAZAAR Power List of Women 2023. She is fuelled by the twin desires to give women a voice and put Singapore on the global comedy map. As an influencer, she focuses on using her following to uplift home-grown Singaporean brands by featuring their clothing and accessories on her social media platforms as well as wearing them for her performances.

She has also been approached by numerous international brands and is collaborating with them on upcoming campaigns in 2024.

Over the past few years, as a philanthropist, Channa has used comedy to shed light on important and sometimes neglected social issues in Singapore.

She has created and starred in many works like "Crazy Poor Sita" and "Am I Old?", earning her critical acclaim from the likes of The Straits Times.

She was also recently featured on the podcast “Crazy Smart Asians” where she spoke about standing up against gender and racial stereotypes.

A powerhouse of comedy and empowerment, Channa is an enigma on stage not to be missed.
