Stephen Nedoroscik

Stephen Nedoroscik is an artistic gymnast specializing in the pommel horse. Nedoroscik began his gymnastics career in 2003, initially competing on all apparatuses until the decision was made to specialize in the pommel horse during his high school years. His commitment to the pommel horse yielded significant results when he clinched the NCAA National Champion title on the pommel horse in 2017 and 2018, respectively, while competing for the Penn State Nittany Lions. He was instrumental in guiding Penn State to a sixth-place finish as a team in 2018.

Nedoroscik's achievements extended beyond national borders when he bagged his first international medal, a gold on the pommel horse, at the Melbourne World Cup in 2020. His international debut was at the Doha World Cup in 2019, where he achieved a sixth-place finish. In 2020, he was honored with the Nissen Emery Award, a prestigious accolade in college men's gymnastics. Nedoroscik went on to win his first elite-level national title on the pommel horse at the 2021 U.S. National Championships. He made history as the first American male artistic gymnast to win a world title since 2011 when he clinched the gold medal in the pommel horse at the 2021 World Championships. Nedoroscik also marked his name as the first and only American to win this event.

After his noteworthy accomplishments, Nedoroscik was chosen to represent the United States at the 2024 Summer Olympics, where he contributed significantly to the team's bronze medal victory. This marked the first Olympic team medal for U.S. men's gymnastics since 2008. Additionally, he won an individual bronze medal for the pommel horse, becoming the fourth American man since World War II to win an Olympic medal on the apparatus. His exceptional performance throughout 2023 included winning the pommel horse at the Core Hydration Classic and the Xfinity National Championships and aiding the United States in securing team gold at the Pan American Games. His performance at the Baku World Cup in 2024 earned him a co-gold on the pommel horse, and he defended his national title for the pommel horse at the U.S. National Championships the same year. Despite dealing with two vision impairments: coloboma and strabismus, Nedoroscik has persistently demonstrated his extraordinary ability in the field of gymnastics.

Off the gymnastics floor, Nedoroscik pursued a degree in electrical engineering at Pennsylvania State University, which he completed in 2020. He has a background in electro-mechanical engineering and robotics automation technology. In his downtime, Nedoroscik enjoys playing chess, video games, solving sudoku, and the Rubik's Cube. Following his success at the Olympics, Nedoroscik was the first star announced for the 33rd season of "Dancing with the Stars."
