Stephen Sears is the Chief Executive of the ECT Group, a social enterprise with unrivalled experience in developing innovative transport and recycling solutions. ECT has a turnover of £45M and employs over 1,000 people in recycling and sustainable waste management, community and public transport, community railways, vehicle and railway engineering and health care. It offers a ‘can do’ philosophy allied to a progressive vision. Stephen’s experience includes: 25 years leadership of Community Transport & Social Enterprise organisations; Masters Degree in Business Administration; Henley Management College; BA (Hons) Town & Country Planning, University of Manchester; Board member – Social Enterprise London; Member of DTI Social Enterprise Strategy working group; 10 years as Chair and now Treasurer of UK Community Transport Association; Former member of Board of the National Council of Voluntary Organisations; Councillor and formerly Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Planning Policy, London Borough of Ealing
