Susie Meister

Susie Meister was born and raised in Pittsburgh, but after high school joined MTV’s Road Rules: Down Under for the ride of her life. She has since done Road Rules: Viewers Revenge and six Real World Road Rules Challenges. She has been an on-air contributor for PBS/WQED’s “OnQ,” editor of Maniac Magazine, and featured in local and national advertising campaigns for Fisher Price, Bruegger’s Bagels, and Rue21. Susie has a PhD in Religious Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. Her research focuses on media and religion in America, and her dissertation is called “Presents of God: The Marketing of the American Prosperity Gospel.” She also produced the documentary, The Revolving Door Faith Club. Despite Susie’s academic interests, she just can’t shake her love for media, and now hosts “FM in the AM,” a lifestyle television show for Federated Media as well as The BrainCandy Podcast with her Challenge co-star, Sarah Rice. Their show features discussion on science, books, films, and pop culture, and is “candy for your right brain and your left brain.” Susie is working on a book for RothCo Press called Being Jesus on the experiences of actors who have played the iconic character. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Adam, and their son Lincoln.
