Suzee Sanderlin

Suzee Sanderlin is a Talent Management Director for the American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization focused on helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. In this role, she leads the Organization Development efforts, overseeing a team of geographically dispersed talent management professionals. Effectively leading and working virtually with her team is one of the outcomes she's most proud of during the past 5 years.

One of the exciting pieces of work has been the implementation of the first organization-wide engagement survey in 2013. Since then, the organization has worked hard to improve participation by 20%, while overall engagement has risen almost as much. This process involves collaboration with HR, executive leadership, business unit leadership, and every one of our employees. Sanderlin am delighted in what we’ve accomplished in the engagement arena.

Before serving at the American Red Cross, she had the honor of working in talent management and organization development at great companies including FedEx Office, EDS/HP, and Cap Gemini/E&Y. Some of my clients were in the healthcare, multi-unit, energy, banking, and insurance industries.

Sanderlin is passionate about her work helping organizations harness the energy and passion of its employees, and loves connecting with others in the OD and talent management fields. She loves the wide variety of projects she works on, and one of the favorite aspects of her job is being able to tell a story – the story of the vision of an effort, project, or engagement. That story is what excites employees to want to be part of the journey.

Sanderlin has a Masters in Organization Development from American University and a BS from Lake Forest College. She also has a teaching certificate for 4-8 math in Texas. She is always interested in connecting with former colleagues, managers or other OD and HR practitioners.
