Sydney Mesher, originally from Portland, Oregon, is a bicoastal artist pursing art in every form. From a young age, it was clear that her purpose was to create and connect. She started off in the entertainment industry as a dancer, and has since been welcomed into the modeling, acting, and activism worlds.
Born without her left hand, Mesher's hope is to bring a new image to the forefront of entertainment -- one that is inclusive and that celebrates all body types. She is a trailblazer in the industry, constantly fighting for disability awareness in media.
As a dancer, Mesher made waves with her debut as the first ever disabled Radio City Rockette in history. Since then, she has danced on the "Today" show, in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and on NHK Japan's Live Spring Broadcast. She danced for Cher at the 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Mesher choreographed for and danced on multiple episodes of Disney Plus' "Growing Up" documentary series. She has performed with BTS Official at their Citi Field concert during their Love Yourself World Tour, and was a part of Candace Brown's debut show, The Soul Spot. She has assisted Galen Hooks, Luam Keflezgy, and Shannon Lewis with classes and on projects. Jaquel Knight personally nominated her for the Monsters Dance Show. Other notable choreographers Mesher has worked with include Julie Branam, Karen Keeler, Rhonda Miller, Laura Haney, Sorya Lundy, Tony Testa, Liz Imperio, and Mandy Moore.
In her modeling career, Mesher has worked with Tommy Hilifger, Adidas, Hollister's Gilly Hicks, Neen, Olay, and Nude Barre. She walked in New York Fashion Week for Abigail Donahue x WeWork.
Mesher made her acting debut in Hallmark's "A Holiday Spectacular," where she starred as Lillian. She has also acted in national commercials for Core Hydration and Snapchat, and played the role of Midnight in Amazon Prime's, "Alex Cross."
As an activist, Mesher has spoken about her disability with Lucky Fin Project, as well as Hands to Love camp. She loves connecting with her limb different community, and meeting friends with differences alike.
Her most recent accomplishment is the publication of her children's book, "She Kept Dancing." Cowritten with Catherine Laudone, and illustrated by Natelle Quek, "She Kept Dancing" tells the story of Mesher's journey to becoming the first visibly disabled Radio City Rockette. Order here.
Mesher has been interviewed on the "Today" show, "Good Morning America," "Access Hollywood," "Goodwill's Evening of Treasures," CNN's "In the Know," and "NBC Nightly News." She has had articles written about her in ESPN, the Oregonian, and Health Magazine and has been featured in media outlets such as People, CNN, NBC, the New York Post, and the Mighty.
