Thomas Keller

Chef Thomas Keller is a highly respected figure in the culinary world, known not only for his exceptional skills and uncompromising standards but also for his significant contributions to the industry. Keller took ownership of "The French Laundry" in Yountville, CA, in 1994 and quickly turned it into a nationally acclaimed establishment. His restaurant portfolio has since expanded to include "Bouchon Bistro," with locations in Yountville and Las Vegas; "Per Se" in New York City; "Ad Hoc + addendum" in Yountville; "The Surf Club Restaurant" in Surfside, FL; "Bouchon Bakery" in Yountville, Las Vegas, and the Middle East; the Mexican eatery "La Calenda" in Yountville; and "Bouchon" in Beverly Hills.

Keller is distinguished as the first and only American-born chef to hold multiple three-star ratings from the prestigious Michelin Guide. He was also the first American male chef to be designated a Chevalier of The French Legion of Honor. His accolades include The Culinary Institute of America’s “Chef of the Year” Award, and the James Beard Foundation’s “Outstanding Chef” and “Outstanding Restaurateur” Awards. In 2017, he led the United States team to its first-ever gold medal at the Bocuse d’Or. The following year, he was inducted into the California Hall of Fame.

As a prolific author, Keller has written several cookbooks with over one million copies in print. His titles include "The French Laundry Cookbook," "Bouchon," "Under Pressure," "Ad Hoc at Home," and "Bouchon Bakery." "Ad Hoc at Home" featured on The New York Times bestsellers list for six weeks, and "Bouchon Bakery" was a New York Times best-selling cookbook, remaining on the bestsellers list for nearly two months after its release in October 2012. His latest work, "The French Laundry, Per Se," released on October 27, 2020, continues to demonstrate his deep understanding of culinary arts and his commitment to excellence in the field.
